Briza maxima is an upright perennial grass species from the Poaceae family. Dense tufts of linear leaves, typically grow to a height of around 60cm. This is a meadow grass with decorative spring flowers that look like oats. Commonly known by the names Greater Quaking Grass and Great Quaking Grass, amongst others.
