Deutzia scabra Overview

This is an ornamental shrub well know for its abundance of flowers. Has thick canes to about 3m high, opposite leaves are long, dark green and rough-textured. Large panicles of white-pink, star-shaped flowers terminate upper branches from mid-spring to early summer. Cultivars include; 'Flore Pleno' which has double flowers striped dull-pink on the outside. 'Candidissima' has pure white double flowers. 'Pride of Rochester' is double with large flowers faintly tinted purple outside.
