Bushman's Candle Overview
Sarcocaulon is a genus of about 15 species of freely branching deciduous, succulent perennials. S. camdeboense is a semi-erect shrublet, up to 40cm tall. Sarcocaulon are sought after by succulent lovers and collectors. The common name comes from the fleshy branches that are covered with wax and are flammable, even when wet! It have been used as kindling to light fires.
