Black-Haired Disa Overview

A striking and rare orchid that is native to the Western Cape of South Africa. It is mostly found in marsh areas that experience a dry period during the summer months. The unique flowers imitate the appearance of the female sphecid wasp and deceive the male wasps to act as exclusive pollinators.
