Spur Flower Overview

Mona Lavender is a hybrid Plectranthus (hillardia x saccatus) that was developed at Kirstenbosch (RSA) by Roger Jaques and is a very popular Plectranthus species worldwide. It is a herbaceous dense shrub growing up to 0.75m high, forming a lovely rounded bush. It flowers profusely with the whole bush covered in soft purple flowers. Preferring semi-shade conditions, but can handle full sun. Flowering in autumn and can be lightly pruned back after flowering to create a compact shrub. Does not tolerate very cold conditions, but has been known to survive light frost.
