Mother Of Herbs Overview
Plectranthus amboinicus is a large, fleshy, perennial plant which is highly aromatic and tends to branch easily. This plant has short, soft, erect hairs, with distinctive smelling leaves. Commonly known by the names Indian Borage and Cuban Oregano, amongst many others. The stem is fleshy, about 30–90 cm long, with long rigid hairs. The taste of this leaf is pleasantly aromatic with an agreeable and refreshing odour. Flowers are on a short stem and are pale purplish. One of the Plectranthus species more tolerant of sun and planted as a medicinal herb.
