Blue Spur Flower Overview
Plectranthus ambiguus, or the Blue Spurflower, is a low-growing groundcover plant with large violet flowers that prefers shady areas. The flowers bloom in profusion during the late summer and autumn months. The leaves are hairy and stems root freely as they touch the ground. While the plant is drought tolerant, it thrives if it is fed and watered regularly. Plectranthus ambiguus works well in hanging baskets, shady embankments or under trees. In cooler climes, it can be grown as an indoor pot plant.
