Spur Flower Overview

Plectranthus "Velvet Elvis" is a soft, erect, small, fast growing shrub with large lilac flowers. The leaves are purple underneath and they continue to flower for a long time. The leaves are unusual in that they leave a nicotine-like stain on the skin if they are crushed and rubbed. The cultivar 'Velvet Elvis' is protected and you are not allowed to grow them from cuttings or propagate it yourself. They are frost sensitive and will die back in cold winters. If pruned after winter they will regrow the following spring as days warm up again.
