Cauliflower 'Snowball' Overview
'Snowball' is a popular cauliflower cultivar that produces compact ivory-white flower heads which are a healthy addition to any dinner table, enjoyed steamed, boiled or raw. While sensitive to extreme weathers, and moderately difficult to maintain, if you have a medium-sized or large garden, cauliflower is well worth the effort. Cauliflowers will easily 'bolt' or go into flower if the temperature is extreme - rather plant them during summer to maximise germination and allow a cool winter to form the head.
Common problems with Cauliflower 'Snowball'
Pests include cabbageworms, aphids and harlequin bugs. Diseases include clubroot and black rot.
