Foeniculum Overview
A small genus comprising 3 species of tall biennial or perennial flowering plants in the Apiaceae family native to North Africa and the Mediterraneum. They are characterised by their aromatic, finely divided foliage and large, flat umbels of yellow flowers. Known commonly as fennel, cultivated varieties often have ornamental coloured foliage - grey-green or purple - and are grown for their edible bulbs, leaves and seeds.
