Ferocactus Overview
Ferocactus is a genus containing around 30 columnar cacti in the Cactaceae family. they are native to Mexico and the Southern US where they inhabit desert regions. These plants may be distinguished by their barrel-shape and spiny ribs and the funnel-shaped flowers which appear in summer. In cultivation they are usually grown under glass in full sun on well-drained soil.
