Desert Rose Overview

Adenium obesum is commonly known by the name Desert Rose. It is a shrubby, succulent perennial from the Apocynaceae family. It forms a swollen, succulent stem, termed a caudex. This structure tapers with height, branching at the top, which is where the large, showy flowers form. Large, showy flowers may be red, pink or white and they open before the leaves, which are long and oval in shape. This species has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
