Aechmea calyculata Overview

Aechmea calyculata is an evergreen herbaceous species in the Bromeliaceae family. It is termed monocarpic as after flowering, it dies. This plant is also termed epiphytic, as it can grow without the need for soil substrate. typically growing to around 60cm tall, this plant produces attractive foliage in a rosette, the leaves are serrated edges. Showy blooms are bright yellow in colour and broadly pyramidal in shape.
