Aporocactus Overview

Aporocactus is a small genus of containing just 2 perennial species in the Cactaceae family. These plants originate from Mexico and they produce many long stems covered in small, relatively soft, white-yellow thorns. These plants produce large red-pink blooms with narrow petals and yellow stamens in the centre, these appear in the summer. Many species once included in this genus have been reclassified and are now included in other genera such as Disocactus.
