Prayer Plant Overview

Ctenanthe is a genus with around 10 distinct species of bushy, evergreen, rhizomatous, perennial plants. They are commonly grown for their attractive, highly patterned foliage and make popular houseplants. They have been extensively bred by botanists to produce a range of cultivars for their ornamental value. Originally from tropical and subtropical climates in Costa Rica and Brazil, these plants like indirect lighting and may be grown outdoors in tropical and subtropical environments.
