A genus of approximately 160 species of prairie and savanna plants in the grass family commonly known as drop seeds. They are cultivated for their mounds of foliage and pale-coloured airy flowerheads, with deciduous varieties changing colour in the Autumn. They need full sun and well-drained soil.
