False Spiraea Overview
Sorbaria is a small genus of about 9 species of large deciduous shrubs from temperate areas of Asia belonging to the rose family, Rosaceae. They have dainty, often toothed pinnate leaves and spirea-like flowers, hence their common name false-spirea. Cultivated varieties are grown for their leaf colouring that changes year-round and erect panicles of usually white flowers. They spread by suckering and can turn into dense thickets if not controlled.
