Banksia Overview

The Banksia genus contains over 80 evergreen woody perennial species and is commonly referred to as Australian honeysuckle. Originally wildflowers, this genus has been cultivated and is now found commonly as a garden plant. They are cultivated for both the foliage and flowers, which are cone-like. They range from small shrubs to over 30m high trees and are found in a range of different habitats including temperate shrubland, dry areas and sometimes tropical rainforests.
