Royal Palm Overview

The genus Roystonea are also known as Royal Palms, with approximately 10 evergreen, single-stemmed palms with a grand overall appearance. They possess characteristic columnar smooth stems with swollen bulges and notable leaf scars. Inconspicuous cream 3-petalled flowers are produced in panicles below a distinctive green crownshaft. Foliage is leathery and stiff, divided pinnately and feather-shaped, produced in tufts from the crown.
