Francoa Overview
This genus has 3 evergreen, perennial species originating from Chile. Foliage is wrinkled, slightly hairy, lobed and grows in rosettes. Delicate flowers are produced summer-autumn, these tend to possess 4 or 5 petals and are typically white or pink, sometimes purple. Darker markings are often present on the inner petal surfaces and these flowers tend to be produced on unbranched, bare stems above the foliage. Cultivars have been developed and this genus is particularly popular for bridal arrangements.
