A genus of aromatic annual or perennial flowering herbaceous or woody plants native to North Africa and Eurasia in the mint family. Commonly known as Savory, they are often cultivated as culinary herbs and for their aromatic quality in sensory gardens and sometimes as ornamental species in the flower border. They require well-drained soil in full sun.
