Phycella bifida is thought to be the correct name for the plant also known as Rhodophiala bifida and commonly by the name Oxblood Lily. It is a bulbous, summer-deciduous, perennial species from the Amaryllidaceae family. It produces attractive funnel-shaped, red flowers on stems above the leaves. These appear from late summer to early autumn, usually with new leaves, or just before them.
