Golden Barrel Cactus Overview

Kroenleinia is a genus containing just 1 species, Kroenleinia grusonii. Thid slow-growing evergreen cactus is from the Cactaceae family. Originating from Northeast Mexico, it is commonly known as a Golden Barrel Cactus and historically it is well known by an older name, Echinocactus grusonii. It is thought to be a hybrid formed from across between the genera Echinocactus and Ferocactus, and has recently placed it in its own new genus, Kroenleinia.
