Philodendron 'Lemon Lime' Overview
Philodendron 'Lemon Lime' is sometime sold under the name Philodendron 'Malay Gold' is a evergreen cultivar popular for its slim, heart-shaped, vibrant yellow-green leaves. These are produced on trailing stems which when trained up a moss pole can reach 1 m in height. This tropical cultivar makes an attractive houseplant and can be grown as a hanging plant. Mature plants may produce green-white flowers arranged in spathe structures. This tender species should be positioned in partial to shaded light, in well-draining, moist soil, high in organic matter for optimal growth. Toxic to both humans and pets, it can also be a skin irritant. Originating from Mexico, Central America, South America and parts of the Caribbean, Philodendron hederaceum 'Lemon Lime' is an attractive perennial cultivar in the Araceae family. It was developed from the species Philodendron hederaceum, which was historically known as Philodendron scandens; however this name is now considered a synonym and is no longer commonly used.
