Sprekelia Overview
The genus Sprekelia contains 2 species of bulbous flowering perennial plants in the Amaryllis family, from Central America. Sprekelia formosissima is commonly cultivated as a houseplant and known by the name Aztec lily. They have tall spikes of solitary, usually red orchid-like flowers above glossy strap-like leaves.
