Queen's Tears Overview
Billbergia is a genus with around 66 evergreen perennials that form rosettes and produce brightly coloured, but short lived, tubular flowers and attractive foliage which is sometimes variegated. Most species are epiphytic and thus grow on the surfaces of other organisms and glean nutrition from their immediate surroundings. They originate from forest and scrubland in Southern Mexico, Central and South America and the West Indies.
