Overview

Alocasia macrorrhizos is an evergreen perennial from the Araceae family. It produces large, shield-shaped leaves around 1–1.2 m in length. In many tropical areas, it is widely naturalised and cultivated as an important crop plant. In more temperate climates, it is more often grown indoors as a showy foliage houseplant.
