Ceiba Overview

Ceiba is a genus with around 20 spiny tree species in the Malvaceae family. This genus originates from tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, some species have been introduced to areas of West Africa and eastern Asia. they are large trees, some species can reach heights of 70m, they don't tend to branch much low down, forming spreading crowns with age and huge buttress roots. They produce showy flowers in a range of colours including pink, red and white.
