Western Redbud Overview
Cercis occidentalis is a deciduous shrub or tree species which often forms multiple stems, from the Fabaceae family. It is commonly known by the names Western Redbud, California Redbud and Californian Redbud, amongst others. Originating from the southwestern USA, it may be found in the states of Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah. This plant produces fantastic pea-like pink-purple flowers and typically grows to around 4m in height. The foliage displays attractive autumn colouration.
