Dicerocaryum Overview

Genus containing around 4 herbaceous perennials with creeping, low-growing growth habits. Foliage is rough, hairy and leaves are egg-shaped, with toothed margins and these are produced oppositely on stems. Produces showy, funnel-shaped, pink blooms with attractive veined and speckled patterning on the inner surface, these are covered in soft hairs. These are produced from December to April in Southern Africa, the summer months. If growing in another country, for example the UK, these would flower in different months, following the seasonal summer, in the UK this falls in May to September.
