Blue Star Overview
Commonly called Bluestar or Blyue Star, the genus Amsonia contains around 20 hardy, clumping perennials. They tend to grow slowly and produce star-shaped blue flowers during summer. Originating from areas in the USA, Asia and Europe, some species in this genus are threatened in the wild.
