Molinia is a small genus containing 2 species of deciduous perennial grasses in the Poaceae family originates from parts of Eurasia and North Africa where members are found growing in damp moorland habitats. Commonly known by the name Moor Grass. They have a tufted habit with characteristic flat, linear grass-like leaves and erect stems carrying panicles of tiny flowers in Summer. Cultivated for their attractive autumn leaves, often coloured flowers and arching habit, preferring an acidic soil.
