Overview

Genus with around 20 perennial shrubs adapted to dry, arid conditions, originally from the Americas. They are typically branched, clumping species which produce yellow daisy-like flowers. Some species are cultivated as ornamental plants for their flowers and drought tolerance and species from this genus have been used in habitat restoration schemes, due in part to their fire retardant abilities under wildfire conditions.
