Fishtail Palm Overview

Genus commonly called fishtail palms due to their leaf shape. Contains 14 palm species which produce large, divided leaves. Grown for both their foliage and flowers, which are cup-shaped, bearing 3 petals and produced on multi-branched, hanging inflorescences underneath the lowest leaf. They make nice ornamental specimens and may also be grown as houseplants.
