Kentia Palm Overview
Howea forsteriana is a tree from the Arecaeae family, commonly known by the names Kentia Palm, Forster Sentry Palm and Paradise Palm, amongst others. This single-stemmed palm species produces dark green foliage measuring around 1.5 m in length, divided pinnately into slim fronds. Star-shaped flowers are borne in winter, and arranged in hanging spikes. These lead onto small oval fruits. It is rare for this species to flower when grown under glass.
