Elephant Ears 'Bressingham White' Overview
Bergenia crassifolia is an evergreen rhizomatous perennial from the Saxifragaceae family. Grown for the attractive white blooms and large leaves, these are leathery in texture and rounded with deep veins. Also known as Heart-Leaf Bergenia Bressingham White and Elephant Ears 'Bressingham White'. It grows to around 50cm tall and the leaves can develop an attractive purple tinge in the winter. Attractive white flowers appear from spring, they grow on erect stems that reach 60cm in height. Flowers are arranged in bell-shaped clusters. This cultivar has earnt a Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Award of Garden Merit. It is also part of the RHS “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen. A great choice for encouraging pollinating insect wildlife into your garden!
