Small Leaved Lime Overview
Tilia cordata is a mid-sized, deciduous tree species, also commonly known by the name small leaved lime. It produces attractive leaves up to 8cm long, these are heart-shaped with pointed tips and finely toothed margins. The foliage exhibits attractive yellow autumn colouration. Flowers are small and scented, coloured cream-white with long central parts and they are arranged in clusters. It forms a spreading to rounded crown and is hardy down to -20 degrees Celsius, plant in a position of full or partial sun, in moist, well-draining soil for optimal growth.
