Balkan Clary 'Caradonna' Overview
Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna' is a perennial cultivar that produces bright violet-blue flowers on erect purple/black stems throughout summer. Contrasting with the flowers, its narrow, rough, grey-green leaves are sweetly aromatic. Also known as Balkan Clary 'Caradonna' or Meadow Sage, it is hardy and likes moist, well-drained soil. It is often seen in Mediterranean-style planting schemes and is particularly suitable for coastal gardens. A low-maintenance plant, it can be deadheaded regularly to encourage more flowers. This very popular cultivar is on the RHS 'Plants for Pollinators' list highlighting plants that produce large amounts of nectar and/or pollen. A great choice for encouraging beneficial insect wildlife into your garden!
