Inula is an old world genus of annuals or herbaceous perennials and subshrubs in the Asteraceae family. it is native to parts of Europe, Asia and Africa and contains more than 100 accepted species. They generally have large basal leaves and yellow daisy-like composite flowerheads. Several species have been cultivated since antiquity as garden ornamentals where they prefer a shady spot in a border or rockery, depending on the growth habit.
