Mammy Croton Overview
The cultivar Codiaeum 'Mammy' is an evergreen perennial species that is frequently grown indoors as a colourful foliage houseplant. This plant has leathery, linear-shaped foliage which twists as it ages, the leaves are brightly coloured and heavily veined leaves in shades of red, orange, yellow, gold and green. This tender species makes a fantastic houseplant, brightening up any room. It grows best with ample humidity, this species is well placed in a bright conservatory, but should be kept out of direct sunlight, instead preferring bright, indirect conditions and plenty of warmth. An east or west-facing window is perfect. Flowers are tiny, white or yellow, star-shaped and appear during the summer months.
How to propagate Mammy Croton
Softwood cuttings should be taken in summer and dipped into a powdered charcoal mix to reduce the amount of bleeding.
