Erepsia Overview

Erepsia is a genus containing around 31 shrub species in the Aizoaceae family. The name Erepsia is derived from the Greek word "erepso", meaning "I shall hide". All species are endemic to the Cape Province region of South Africa and some have been introduced to the UK. these plants typically branch from the base and have smooth stems. The flowers have linear to spoon-shaped petals and may be white, pink or red-purple in colour. These plants have sharp-tipped leaves and closely resemble species in the genus Mesembryanthemum, some species were previously classified in this genus.
