Green Alkanet Overview

The sole species in the genus Pentaglottis, a herbaceous perennial native to Western Europe. Common names include green alkanet and evergreen bugloss and it is commonly found in damp, shady habitats, especially in urban areas. It was introduced from the Continent to the British Isles and has become naturalised and can be a tough weed to control, although its popular with bees.
