Ludlow's Tree Peony Overview
Paeonia ludlowii is a deciduous shrub species in the Paeoniaceae family. It has an upright habit, producing divided foliage that is oppositely arranged and comprised of large leaves. Flowers are attractive and showy, cup-shaped and coloured bright yellow. Flowers measure approximately 12cm across and are produced in late spring. They open at the same time as the leaves. This species is part of the Royal Horticultural Society “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen. A great choice for encouraging pollinating insect wildlife into your garden!
