Ragged Robin Overview

Silene flos-cuculi was recently reclassified from Lychnis flos-cuculi. Silene flos-cuculi is a deciduous perennial plant from the Caryophyllaceae family. Commonly known by the names Ragged Robin, Cuckoo Flower and Meadow Pink, amongst others. It has an upright habit, growing to around 70cm in height. Ragged Robin forms branched stems with lance-shaped leaves arranged oppositely on stems. Flowers are rose-pink and star-shaped, with divided petals. This species is part of the Royal Horticultural Society “Plants for Pollinators” initiative to showcase plants which support pollinator populations by providing ample amounts of nectar and/ or pollen. A great choice for encouraging pollinating insect wildlife into your garden!
