Escallonia Overview

This variety is an upright dense, bushy hybrid it will grow to about 3m in height and spread. It has a remarkably rich dark green wavy edged leaves 8cm long which in cold climates can be tinged with bronze in the winter. The flowers are in panicles about 15cm long of slightly fragrant pure white flowers, they will stand out very well against the rich foliage and are produced in late summer.

You can propagate by softwood or semi-ripe cuttings in the summer.

Other uses of Escallonia

Grown for their profuse, 5 petalled flowers and glossy foliage, which is very attractive to bees. Suitable for coastal conditions.
