Slipper Flower Overview

Calceolaria biflora is an evergreen perennial species in the Calceolariaceae family. It is a hardy, alpine plant that produces bright yellow flowers spotted with brown from late spring-summer. The flowers are interestingly pod-shaped, similar to slippers in appearance and 2 are produced on each flowering stem. This plant grows low to the ground, with a mat-forming habit, producing silvery leaves that are covered in very fine hairs.
