Mask Flower Overview

Alonsoa meridionalis 'Rebel' is an ornamental, perennial cutlviar in the figwort family, Scrophulariaceae. It was bred for garden use and is often grown as an annual plant in the UK for the bright red flowers. They are similar to those of poppies and are often used in the cut flower industry. Foliage is oppositely arranged, oval in shape and leaves have toothed edges. This half-hardy species can be grown in mild climates, it does best in rich, well-draining soil. Its recommended to pinch out young growth to encourage a bushy habit.
