Pondweed Overview

A hardy, aquatic genus containing around 160 deciduous, perennial plants that grow submerged under the water. Typically favoured for their foliage, these are also known commonly as pondweed and they form dense interwoven stem networks underwater. This genus possesses 2 different types of leaves, translucent forms that reside underwater and stiffer, more rounded floating leaves. This genus is found across the globe and are vigorous growers, easily spreading to cover water bodies.
