Sekwebetane Overview

From a distance, if it looks like the famous fever-tea or lemon bush plant (Lippia javanica), it is most likely Lantana rugosa. Sadly, sharing the common name bird’s brandy with its notorious and invasive sister plant from America, Lantana camara, but with smaller leaves, compared to the broader leaves of Lantana camara. The common L. rugosa has a wide southern African distribution and, with its characteristic wrinkled leaves, possesses both ornamental and medicinal properties, making it a worthwhile plant to have within the garden.
