Exochorda is a genus containing just 2 species of hardy, deciduous shrubs from the Rosaceae family. Native to Central Asia and China, this genus is commonly grown as an ornamental and is also known by the title pearl bush after the flowers. They produce vast quantities of showy, white flowers with 5 petals at branch tips. Hybrids have been produced featuring the most favourable species traits, such as profuse flowering and shrubby stature.
